A sad day in the Teton community

It truly saddens me to write that today the Teton community lost one of our finest.  Wray Landon was swept by an avalanche off of the Southeast face of the South Teton at about 11:30 am.

I know there are many people in the region that have a tremendous amount of respect for Wray, not just for being such a strong mountain athlete, but mostly for being such a genuinely great person.  I have been fortunate to have known Wray for many years as we grew up ski racing together from a young age.  He was always a voice of reason and I’ve always looked up to him for being such a strong willed individual.

My heart goes out to those closest to Wray; the Landon family, Zahan, Brady and many many more.  Let us not look to the Tetons now as saddened memories of Wray, but at his inspariation and legecy memorialized to remind us to push our selfs as any moment may be our last.  Thank you for being such an inspiration Wray, you will never be forgotten.
