She Jumps in Driggs, ID

DRIGGS, Idaho–SheJumps and Habitat will present the third US Premiere of “Catch Us If You Can” on February 25th, 2010. This all-women’s ski film featuring big mountain skiing from all over the world was produced by Swedish company Generation Flinga. “Catch Us If You Can” is a strong statement about women’s skiing today and stands as the first full-length women’s ski movie in the history of the sport. The movie features big-mountain skiers Lynsey Dyer, Rachael Burks, Stina Jakobsen, Jannette Hargin, Sara Orrensjo, Jennifer Farde, and Anja Persson.

SheJumps is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to increasing and inspiring women’s participation in outdoor activities. The opportunity to premiere “Catch Us If You Can” in the United States ties in directly with their mission to help women see what is possible in the outdoors and give them positive female role models with healthy, active lifestyles to be inspired by.  Mira Fahrenbruch, local Teton Valley SheJumps coordinator says of the event, “The Teton valley is home to a vibrant outdoor community, which SheJumps hopes to strengthen and support. The movie premiere will be a great opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to meet, network, and become inspired.”

This event is in conjunction with Ladies’ Night at Habitat, which means storewide sales for all women in attendance. There will also be fine beer provided by Grand Teton Brewing Company and light appetizers. SheJumps co-founder Claire Smallwood will be there to share more information about SheJumps and some of the new projects that SheJumps is taking on: “This is a great opportunity to expand our programming to new communities and the Teton Valley is a great place to do that. I am excited to talk about our big project on the horizon and get everyone stoked out on SheJumps!” The vision of SheJumps is to create a community of ambitious and compassionate women that are willing to take a “jump” to reach their potential.
